Testimonials
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Brooke, watching her grow and hone in on her marketing skills. Brooke demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills in the various projects she worked on. She was the “go-to” point person for my marketing team in coordinating logistics of a fragrance launch with cross-functional teams throughout the organization. Brooke was extremely organized and thorough, taking diligent notes on projects at meetings [and] coordinat[ing] the follow up. Brooke was instrumental in providing competitive analysis on the fragrance industry while my team developed a launch strategy for Younique, a new division of Coty entering the fragrance category. She compiled competitive data including product mix and sizing, pricing, distribution models, promotional activity, olfactive categories, retail sales and market share. She presented her final project to Senior Management and it was extremely well-received. Brooke excelled in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and agility are key. Priorities often change daily and Brooke was quick to respond in a calm, easy-going and organized manner. Brooke was responsible, hard-working and demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout the program. She is friendly, easy-going, and a true team player. ”
“I learned so much from Brooke’s confidence as well as her easy-going and hard-working nature. Especially for our [strategic marketing] PowerPoint and handouts [with website, app, and social media mock-ups], which were the most significant outcomes of our performance; we couldn’t have made it without Brooke. Yet, she emphasized our effort as a team, not holding a grudge against others when people couldn’t live up to her skills. Which, frankly speaking, is the kind of attitude I would have held in similar situations. Also, I could see her genuine interest in people and positivity when we were doing in-store interviews [for PetPeople]. She could easily go with the flow because her focus was on the interviewee, while I was struggling to find what “I” could say next. She was encouraging, motivating, and fun to be around!”
“Brooke has taken my course on Persuasive Communications at the Ross School during the last school year. She was an enthusiastic and productive contributor to that class, someone I could count on to add to the discussion and ask and answer questions. I’ve also spoken to her about her career interests and certainly, advertising & digital marketing are at the top of her list. As a 23-year veteran of the ad business at Leo Burnett where I headed up the Kellogg’s and Morgan Stanley businesses, and now in my 16th year teaching advertising and marketing at Ross, I’ve recruited, interviewed, hired, and worked with hundreds of young advertising students and new hires. Over those 16 years in the classroom, Brooke has been one of my best students who seemed to have an uncommon feel for creativity and business. She’s also demonstrated an ability to work well on diverse teams to reach a common goal. My courses at Michigan reflect my industry experience. As such, they require students to participate in class, to read and understand the assigned books, volunteer answers to my questions and ask questions of my industry guest speakers. I ask students to be assertive, to look for opportunities to contribute, to become “Students of the Game.” Brooke has been inspired by this environment. As I think back on all the students I’ve endorsed based on their skills, work ethic, and interest in the industry, she would be among the very best.”
“I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Brooke earlier this fall as she enrolled in my 300 level Marketing Strategy course. As a faculty member at the business school, I have the privilege of teaching some of the brightest minds on campus and, arguably, the most ambitious students that Michigan has to offer. The better students are not only bright, but also curious. However, there are a select few who are both scholastically inquisitive and culturally curious, and Brooke is counted among them. Her proximity to the dynamics of contemporary culture is especially powerful when coupled with an applied understanding of marketing strategy. In class, she was quick to share her experiences, illustrating concepts for her classmates using examples from her unique background and drawing from cultural artifacts. She has a great appreciation for the nuances culture and a discerning eye to recognize where brands have license to participate in it authentically. It’s beyond intuition, this is indeed a skill that has been forged from empathic curiosity. The alchemy of these skills plus Brooke’s previous work experiences (Discovery, BigEyedWish, Coty, and The Michigan Daily) and her newly acquired marketing acumen makes her a unique talent and a compelling acquisition for an agency that understands the impact that culture has on marketing communications. In all things, Brooke brings a high level of enthusiasm and great passion. I do not hesitate in recommending her... I can’t say enough good things about her. You should hire her before I get a chance to.”
“We wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation for Brooke’s work these past few months. Right at the start, we were so impressed with her ability to quickly learn about our company, its mission, vibe, and quickly figure out how to help support it. We’ve only continued to be more and more impressed as we got to know both her creative and strategic mind, as well as her work ethic, flexibility, and contagious positive attitude. From the crazy cool Instagram account she’s built for us, to her teen outreach, to her campaign ideas and execution, to the collaborations she’s arranged for recurrent, the list goes on and on of what she’s done to help elevate the brand. We feel so blessed recurrent has gotten to benefit from all of Brooke’s talents and skills these past few months, and couldn’t imagine having been able to launch the company without her as an integral part of our team.”
“In the spirit of acknowledging our talent, I wanted to send a note sharing how much we value Brooke in Social Marketing. Continually hitting above the JD. Fearless. Collaborative. Curious.
There have been many projects she’s been thrown into this year as we at Dentsu have navigated changing business needs, and she has brought value to every. single. one.
I witnessed firsthand the talent on IMAX, Walmart, Kingsford, and below is a verbatim from a Director on our General Motors Energy team:
”I’m so genuinely impressed with the work Brooke’s done on GM Energy thus far, which is a complicated subject matter to understand. She spent her own time understanding the social strategy and onboarding materials outside of our meetings. She handled the tasks that I gave her with minimal handholding and executed my feedback perfectly. I know we both felt like she could step in and do a good job, but she exceeded my expectations and I just had to pass this along!”
Brooke, well done, keep bringing it.”
